Text is printed letterpress and is used as wrappers for fourteen hand colored etchings which are held in a folded paper slipcase. A hand colored etching is mounted on the cover. The book measures 10 1/4 inches by 7 inches. Edition of 26, signed by the artist.

Description

With this title Owen revisits the medieval form of the bestiary to explore the use of animals to represent good and evil. As each animal is designated as a god or demon, they each offer a poetic response to these roles. The book is printed on Rives paper and consists of hand- pained etchings, and three hand printed wrappers. The text is printed letterpress by Mary Phelan, using Caslon Old Style, and Lombardic Capitals The book is bound by Owen in a cloth covered chemise, decorated with a hand pained etching. Printed in an edition of 30, 26 lettered, and 4 numbered copies. Signed by the artist.
